The journey
A few blogs back I wrote about the need for humility in leadership. This is kind of a continuation of that. Darlene Zcshech’s definition of pride is “the desire to be more attractive or important than other.” Last night, I was struggling with this and God hit me hard with the reality than I could continue thinking “I’m right!” or I could get on with doing what He’s called me to do. What He’s called all of us to do is build others up. It doesn’t matter if it’s people you lead or people who are over you; we are called to encourage others towards fulfilling God’s plans and purposes in their lives. There are specific people that God has positioned in our life, and He has made our destiny tied to theirs. If we cause them to succeed and go higher, than we will too. If we bless them, God will cause us to be blessed. Unfortunately, the path towards the dreams that God has placed within us is not what we would often choose for ourselves. We would choose the easy road, the short cut, the shortest distance between to points, but God in His infinite wisdom knows that we have to be shaped along the journey in order to be able to sustain and carry the dream that He has for us. “What is on your life will kill you, if what is in you can’t sustain you.”- Christine Caine

So…have you ever been given a dream that you know is from God but is bigger than you can believe He would do in you?
